EDI Strategies in the Construction Industry

Location: Zoom details to follow

Date: Nov. 24, 2022, 12:00 – 1:30

Studies have shown that candidates seek out organizations that are diverse and inclusive and many employees have indicated they would leave their current employer for a more inclusive culture. Many HR professionals have been tasked with leading the EDI strategy, or, are struggling to gain buy-in from the top. In industries like construction that tend to be homogenous and traditional, the challenge is greater. Whether you are already underway or just getting started, this session will provide the fundamental considerations necessary in outlining an effective EDI Strategy. Come prepared to discuss with colleagues by enabling your video and audio.

Serena Morphy, CPHR, SHRM, is the Principal and Founder of Awaken HR, a Vancouver-based firm specializing in inclusion, engagement, and culture. Awaken HR supports your EDI journey by providing, strategy development and execution, training, current state audits and recommendations, policy development and HR project and operational support. Prior to starting Awaken HR, Serena was an HR leader in heavy industrial organizations including mining, forestry, and large infrastructure construction. Today, Serena continues to support clients in construction, engineering and architecture.
